Field collections of habitats thought to contain tardigrades were made throughout the Long Term Ecological Research Sites (LTER’s) in the United States from 2007 – 2012. Other areas, both nationally and internationally were opportunistically sampled. Samples were processed at Fresno City College with identifications being done by FCC undergraduate students, supervised by Dr. Randy Miller, and Carl Johansson, with DNA being done at BYU on selected samples. Over 15,000 tardigrades were collected and processed during that time. Slides are distributed between FCC’s Robinson – Winter Museum of Natural History, Bohart Museum, and the Philadelphia Academy of Sciences.
